v. to mentor: offering advice, sharing knowledge and providing support to help someone grow
“It’s just two people having a conversation and sharing perspectives”.
“It might lead to change; it night not lead to anything, but the important thing is that it gets you thinking and the cogs in your brain working”.
What is my mentoring style?
I keep things conversational, clear, and honest as if you were talking to a friend.
For me, it’s about helping you find your thing or as I like to put it, your inner edge. The part of you that already knows what you want, what you stand for and what you’re capable of, even if you don’t know it yet.
I’m not here to give all the answers, but we will have honest conversations and I will ask the questions that get you thinking differently. I draw on my own experiences personally and professionally, but I meet you where you are — whether you’re figuring out your next move, going through change, or just feeling stuck.
It’s a mix of real talk, fresh perspective, and making sure you’re not just moving forward, but moving in the right direction for you.
Below are just some of the organisations I have had the pleasure of partnering with:-
You’ve Got The Edge
In my mentoring, I’ve seen that sustained growth rarely comes from surface-level solutions. It comes from the deeper interplay of mindset, behaviour, and clarity of direction.
That’s why I developed The Inner Edge — a simple but powerful framework that encourages you to validate yourself, sharpen your impact, and move from intention to action.
It explores four dimensions that shape how people lead themselves, grow and navigate challenge:
-
If you have conviction in the things you do and your values, then you’re more likely to act with confidence. Equally, confidence gives you the courage to stick to your convictions. Together, they give certainty and create resolve in times of doubt or moments of challenge.
-
The foundation for any relationship is trust. This garners influence and mutual respect, that creates a response and relational depth from which sustained results are built on. Relationships = Respect = Response = Results.
-
Spotting gaps, acting with purpose, and using time effectively can massively enhance output. Simultaneously, without disciplined follow-through, opportunism can lead to hit-or-miss action. I believe in the discipline of output, but also in the differential that comes from sensing and seizing the right opportunities.
-
To put it simply, procrastination is the assassination of all destinations. Every time we delay action, or in some cases do nothing at all — we deny ourselves progress, the opportunities that could arise, and whether big or small, the far-reaching impact we might have.
Testimonials
“Greg's commitment to supporting and guiding young people has been exemplary in the seven years that I have been working with him. Despite balancing a full-time job and the demands of a young family, Greg has dedicated his time to being a positive role model and mentor for young people in the community.
He always shows compassion and empathy, especially when working with young people who have experienced significant challenges and obstacles in their lives. He is an excellent listener and communicator, and this is not only reflective when working with the young people, but also when collaborating with colleagues to prepare resources for sessions.”
Brianna Cyrus - Head of Education & Youth Programmes at ARE
“Greg was a relatable and insightful mentor. Our relationship has built on from just being a mentor, to being a friend. His transparency not only made our conversations real, but I truly felt he cared about me. Our conversations led me to take more ownership of my career and take on leadership roles in the community.”
Adekunle Omisakin - Sr Electrical Systems Integration Engineer
“I’ve had the pleasure of mentoring Greg over the past 12 months, during which time we developed a strong and constructive relationship, with both of us learning from each other. Greg is a natural communicator, thoughtful, and highly organised, with a natural ability to connect ideas and people both within and beyond the workplace.
His leadership qualities are proven, not defined, in his work professionally but also through his diversity initiatives. These efforts includes speaking at career conferences on creating equitable career pathways, and partnering with mentoring organisations to support underrepresented talent in financial services, reflecting his inclusive and forward-thinking approach.”
Julian Ide - CEO | Investor | Non-Executive Director
"When I first connected with Greg, I was at a real crossroads in my career, unsure of my next steps. His calm and encouraging style created the space I needed to reflect and prioritise what truly mattered to me. Through our conversations, Greg helped me gain clarity and confidence, which ultimately led to me securing an exciting new role that aligns perfectly with my goals.
I’m incredibly grateful for his guidance during such a pivotal time. I'd highly recommend Greg as a mentor and as someone who can be an invaluable asset to any organisation that's looking to develop equity, diversity and inclusion."
Gillian Kinsella - European Public Policy & Government Relations Manager
“Wallah (I swear by God) I’m actually so grateful for meeting you. You’ve helped me find out what I want to do in the future, and you also helped me figure out what I won’t do after I finish secondary; like you genuinely don’t understand how grateful I am. I might not show it, but I promise you I am. I can’t lie, I don’t know what else to say, but a very big thank you.”
